SnowMan Trekking

Bhutan for a long time the "Forbidden Kingdom", still limits the number of tourists visiting the country, to protect the cultural heritage and preservation of natural wealth and beauty is still the number one priority of the country. The snowman trek is considered to be the most challenging trek and of the longest duration in Bhutan. The trekking is 21 Day long ranging between the altitudes of 3000M to 5000m.

For the snowman trek one must be in top physical condition to be able to walk between 8-10 hours at 3000-5000 m altitude. Flexibility and patiente is required at times especially when one confronts logistic problems arising with yaks and horses. While on trek one is expected not to distributed sweets, pen/pencil etc to children and villagers also.

SnowMan Trekking Itinerary

Day 01: Fly to Paro from Kathmandu.
Arrival in Paro (International Airport of Bhutan) and then transfer to hotel. During the Time flying onwards Bhutan the visitors enjoy the breathtaking views of Mt. Everest, Kanchanjunga and other major peaks like Mt. Jhomolhari and Jitchu Drake. O/N at hotel

Day 02: Drive to Chelela Pass
Crossing 3900m of the kingdom we drive to Chelela Pass which is in easy access with the motorable roads. Then explore and hike around the Pass. O/N at hotel.

Day 03: Drive along side of the river called Chu to Thimpu, the capital city of Bhutan.
Drive goes onwards to the colorful Memorial chorten, dedicated to the king and follow the road to Tarkin zoo, the name of the zoo is derived from Bhutanese National birds, meaning the rare species of animal and birds in Bhutan. The tour then goes to traditional Painting School, National Library, Indigenous Hospital, handicraft factory, Zlukha Nunnery etc. O/N at hotel on full board menu.

Day 04: Drive to Bumthang
which helds the myth and mysterious tales about the Guru Padmasambhava who repelled out the feast and protect the people. Tour to Jakar Dzong, Castle of white bird, Jambay Lhakhang (old monastery) and Mebar Tso, all these are the historical monuments and has great value to Bhutanese. Evening fire ceremony at Jambay Lhakhang, as the festival starts. Overnight at hotel.

Day 05: Tkatsang to Jele Dzong.
4hrs walk, pleasant ascent. Over night at camp (2575m)

Day 06: Jele Dzong – Janchulakha trek.
5hrs walk through amazing green forest. Overnight at camp(2880m).

Day 07: Janchulakha – Jimlantso trek.

Walk 5hrs, furrow the way between beautiful nature land. Over night at camp(3200m).

Day 08: Jimalntso lake – Simkota lake trek.

Crossing many lakes, yak pasture. overnight at Camp(3850m)

Day 09: Simkota – Phajoding trek. Ascent and descent.
Ascent rewards Bhutan’s highest mountain views. Overnight at camp.

Day 10: To, Thimpu trek.
Walk through pine forest. Later on relax and stroll the city. O/N at hotel.

Day 11: Sight seeing

The capital of the country where the cluster of tradinational handicraft factory, painting school, hand mad paper factory, nunnery, memorial chorten ect. O/N at hotel.

Day 12: Trip onward to Punakha – the winter capital,
sight seeing at wangdi historical monuments. O/N at hotel.
