Langtang Trekking region is in the direction of the north of Kathmandu and just south part of the Tibetan border. Langtang trekking routes of Nepal is sandwiched in the middle of major Himalayan area to the north and slightly minor area of snow capped peaks to the south part. The west part of Nepal Langtang Trek region situated “Ganesh Himal” with the peaks between 6,000 meters to 7,000meters. The well known Name Langtang came from two dissimilar words “Lang” and “Tang”. Lang means yak and Tang means to fallow. Such massive mountains including Langtang Lirung (7,264m) Dorje Lakpa (6,966m) Naya kanga peak (5,846m), Tala peak, Gang Chhenpo (6,388m) langtang Himal and other many major peaks located in Lantang trekking area of Nepal.

In 1971, Nepal Langtang trek region was accepted as Nepal’s first Himalayan national park and now it is protected area. This Langtang National park covers 1,710 square kilometers so the major Langtang Trekking trails led within the border of this National park which covers Nuwakot, Rasuwa and Sindhupalchok districts of Nepal. The major extra ordinarily of Nepal Langtang Trekking national park is the langtang Himalayan rage in the north part and several numbers of lakes in the south with holy lakes. The central ethnic social collections of this national park are Sherpa’s and Tamangs who fallows similar cultures, languages, religion like Tibetans.

The Nepal Lantang National park is protected for Wild dog, Red panda, Musk deer, Himalayan Black bear, Pika, Muntjac, Himalayan Thar,  Ghoral, Rhesus Monkey, Snow leopard, Serow which can be seen during the Langtang Trekking.  Several types of birds can be found here which includes – Hawks, Hoopoe, Cuckoos, Barbets, Owls, Night Jar, Laughing Thrushes, Red-billed, Minvets and Parakeets. Having the Temperate sub-alpine vegetations also the flora including Sky Blue Gentians, Epiphytic Orchids and Primroses are found inside the park.

The spring and autumn would be the best time to Trek in Langtang region as spring is Rhododendron season and April –May presents a spectacular show of red, pink and white wild flowers. Summer is plentiful with flora also believe as best time for trekking in Langtang region.  Langtang trekking in Nepal is close proximity from Kathmandu presents chances to investigate villages, climb small peaks and visit the glaciers.
